Kut marking a start of a performance This is a Kut to greet the audience. First, like the command system in the military, the players prepare and check everything for the performance. Then a trumpet is played to announce the starting of Kut. This is called "Irusamche Kut" in which players start from the corner of the ground and move into the center to bow to the audience and start the performance.

One of the best melodies in the Left Region Peasant Music is the "Kut to March in Five Tempos". This piece has a very unique melody that is not found in other regions and very difficult to play. This part is a combination of a military march and Kut. Some say that this is composed of command and signal delivery codes in the military. This is called Five Tempo Kut since it includes Kut performance in five different tempos and gong is played five times.

This is called encampment since camps are pitched east, west, north and middle regions. Performance adds excitement by playing a special "exorcism music" and moves around the five directions to soothe all the ghosts and keep prosperity of the village with the help of those ghosts. Sometimes it is played in two or three abridged version. Pitching five camps is a demonstration of showing how strong the friendly force is with the purpose of demoralizing the enemy

This performance depicts the process of confirming the casualties of the friendly force. All the players are gathered in the center and roll-calling is done, which is followed by more training. All the diverse melodies are played to add zest to the performance. Big gong is not played in this Kut and the big gong players walk very fast with the big gong on their shoulders. When the leader of the gong players call "Jan.and Jan" walking very fast and sounding the small gong, all the other gong players play the small gongs 2 to 3 times responding "Ho.. Ho."

Small hand drum played in peasant music is also called "Bubgo" (a drum used in a temple). In the Right Region Peasant Music for Honam, the small drum player wears con-shaped hat, which is well known to the public. This performance has very delicate and well-developed hand and leg gestures, which make all the dancing more stylish and appealing. Players enter the stage lightly hopping and show different gestures following the instruction of the leader of small hand drum players. The performance of dancing looks like flying butterflies to the amusement and admiration of the audience.
A tail is attached on the hat worn by the leader of gong players. In Right Region Peasant Music the tail is made of feather of a crane. This is why it is called "stiff hat". The player shows various dancing and playing skills spinning it. Looking all the dancing skills and wonderful performance, the audience gets excited and totally absorbed into the performance.
One of the outstanding characteristics of the Right Region Peasant Music is that over 80 melodies are played 4 to 5 times in different gestures. In the past, all the double-headed drum players performed one by one, but these days they perform simultaneously. Various skills are required to play the double-headed drum. This performance can be called a flower of the peasant music since it is filled and harmonized with rich gestures and delicate melody play.
This performance marks the peak of the whole performance at the end. All the audience is overwhelmed by the player's performance when he plays with the long tails moving around upward/down, forward/backward, left/right in every possible direction in all the acrobatic gestures. The player can lie on his stomach on the floor spinning the tails and stand up slowly still spinning them. He can also jump between the tails and cross them. The performance is wrapped up in a very fast spinning of the tails.
